Getting Started

Volume Tier Pricing lets you offer quantity breaks and tiered discounts to your Shopify customers. Built on Shopify Functions, discounts are applied natively at checkout - no variant pollution, no draft orders, no fragile workarounds.

Here is what you will need:

• A Shopify store on any plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus) - no Shopify Plus required
• Products you want to offer volume pricing on
• Your desired price tiers (quantity thresholds and discount amounts)

Setup Guide

Step 1: Install the App

Install Volume Tier Pricing from the Shopify App Store. The installation process will:

1. Request the necessary permissions (product read access, theme write access)
2. Set up the Shopify Function for automatic discounts at checkout
3. Add the tier table widget to your theme (via app blocks or theme extension)

No coding is required. The entire process takes about 60 seconds.

Step 2: Enable the App Block

For Online Store 2.0 themes (like Dawn), enable the app block in your theme editor:

1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize in your Shopify admin
2. Navigate to a product page template
3. Click Add block in the product section
4. Select Volume Tier Pricing - Tier Table from the app blocks
5. Position the block where you want the tiered pricing table to appear
6. Save your changes

Step 3: Configure Your First Tier

Open Volume Tier Pricing from your Shopify admin and follow the setup wizard:

1. Select a product (or collection) to add volume pricing to
2. Define your quantity breaks and corresponding discounts
3. Preview how the tier table will look on your storefront
4. Save and activate

Tier Configuration

Each tier consists of a minimum quantity and a discount. You can define as many tiers as you need for each product, creating a true buy more, save more experience.

Example Configuration

For a product priced at $25.00:

Discount Types

• Percentage discount: Reduce price by a percentage (e.g., 10% off)
• Fixed amount discount: Reduce price by a fixed dollar amount (e.g., $2.50 off per unit)
• Fixed price: Set a specific per-unit price for each tier (e.g., $22.50 per unit)

Collection-Level Tiers (Basic, Professional & Plus)

Instead of configuring tiers product-by-product, you can apply wholesale pricing rules to an entire collection. All products in that collection will inherit the same tier structure.

Bulk Tier Editor (Professional & Plus)

For stores with large catalogs, the Professional and Plus plans include a bulk tier editor:

• Import tier configurations via CSV
• Export your current configuration for backup or editing
• Apply bulk discounts to multiple products at once

Widget Customization

The tier table widget is designed to blend seamlessly with any theme. You can customize it further on paid plans.

Customization Options (Basic, Professional & Plus)

• Colors: Match your theme's primary, accent, and text colors
• Border style: Choose from rounded, sharp, or no borders
• Header text: Customize the table header ("Buy More, Save More" or your own text)
• Savings display: Show savings as percentage, dollar amount, or both
• Quantity stepper: Enable or disable the smart quantity stepper
• Active tier highlight: Choose the highlight color for the current tier

CSS Overrides

For advanced customization, you can add custom CSS in the app settings. The widget uses well-defined CSS classes:

Troubleshooting

The tier table is not showing on my product page

• Make sure the app block is added in your theme editor (see Step 2 above)
• Verify that the product has at least one tier configured in the app
• Check that your theme supports Online Store 2.0 app blocks
• Clear your browser cache and try again

Discounts are not applying at checkout

• Ensure the Shopify Function is enabled: go to Settings > Checkout > Discount Functions in your Shopify admin
• Check that the product's tiers are saved and active in the app
• Verify the customer's quantity meets the minimum threshold for a quantity break
• If you are using another discount app, check for conflicts between Shopify Functions

The widget looks different from my theme

• Try the customization options in the app settings to match your theme colors
• Use the CSS override feature for precise control
• Use the contact form below if you need help with theme-specific styling

My volume discounts are not combining with other discounts

• Shopify has rules about stacking discount Functions - volume pricing will combine with shipping discounts but may not stack with other product-level discounts
• Check your Shopify admin under Settings > Checkout for discount combination settings
